About Paris Tourism
The capital of France lies around the River Seine and contains many of the country's most iconic landmarks and buildings, such as the Notre Dame cathedral and the Eiffel Tower itself. Paris is known worldwide for its arts scene, fashion industry and history, and is the most-visited city in the world, regularly attracting more than 30 millions tourists every year. Travellers arriving in the city by train will find that the Gare du Nord station is home to a useful tourist office, where hotels can be arranged free of charge. The most central accommodation certainly comes at a price, with Paris apartments and hotels residing within the Louvre and Les Halles area being rather desirable, especially around the Place Vendôme. Other vibrant areas of the city include Ile de la Cite, the Latin Quarter, Marais, Montparnasse and the Opéra, as well as the Champs Élysées, where views of the majestic Arc de Triomphe are likely.
Orly Airport (ORY) offer excellent access to Paris and its many outstanding attractions. Be sure to look out for the Moulin Rouge, the colourful Montmartre district, the Arc de Triomphe, the elegant Place de la Concorde, and the outlying Disneyland Resort park.
